The Audiology Clinic of Northern Alberta was established in 1982 by Ray and Adele Lewchuk. As the first private practice audiology clinic in Edmonton, they could see the need for a clinic that would provide quality hearing health care. Prior to opening the private audiology clinic in Edmonton, Adele had worked at the audiology departments at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, Charles Camsell Hospital, and University of Alberta Hospital. She also worked briefly for the Saskatchewan Hearing Aid Plan in Saskatoon. This variety of employment opportunities made the move to private practice a logical transition.
Originally located in the Garneau Professional Centre, the clinic was moved to their current location in 1989. With almost 3000 square feet of space, the location nicely houses the audiology and support staff and is conveniently located on 109 Street, four blocks south of Whyte Avenue.
When the clinic first opened, Adele and Ray were very grateful to their clients who referred their family and friends for audiology services. The clinic continues to rely on word of mouth and physician referral. Ensuring client satisfaction is a constant goal. Our emphasis continues to be a combination of diagnostic hearing assessments, treatment with quality hearing aids, counselling, hearing aid maintenance and adjustments, as well as providing assistive listening devices and batteries.
